Annual Species Tally
The relatively well recorded
years of the late 1980s and early 1990s show remarkably similar annual species
totals.
A considerable increase in observation-days 1994 to 1999 show higher annual
totals with a record 188 in the remarkable year of 1997.
Since then, the continued increase in observation led to new records with 197 species recorded in 2000 & 2011, an exceptional 200 in 2010 bettered by the 201 in 2013.
A tally of less than 190 was seen as a ‘poor year’, that figure hasn't been met since 2016.
