The relatively well recorded years of the late 1980s and
early 1990s show remarkably similar annual species totals.
A considerable increase in observation-days 1994 to 1999 show higher annual
totals with a record 188 in the remarkable year of 1997.
Since then, the continued increase in observation has led to new records with 197 species recorded in 2000 & 2011 and an exceptional 201 in 2010.
Now a tally of less than 190 is seen as a ‘poor year’!
