Great Reed Warbler

This bird, the first record for the Warren, was discovered on the Main Pond by Niall Mugan on 18th May 2004.
First seen briefly in flight across the main channel at lunchtime, it spent large amounts of time out of view and did not show well until late afternoon and then again in the evening.  There was no sign of the bird the following day.  This bird was not heard singing and is therefore presumed to have been a female.

This was the ninth Devon record and the first for 12 years.
